Ski Tour 2019
February Mid Term 2019
Our second year students have just returned from a week of skiing in the alps. They set off last Sunday week to Milan for what was an action packed week in the town of Bormio, Italy. Early mornings, lots of food, fun on slopes, an array of evening activities and lots of sleep was the theme for the week. It was tough going and bodies were weary at times but all overcame the challenges that they met and made incredible progress by the end of the week with a few even managing to ski from the very top of the mountain at 3000m.

About Our Tour
St. Caimin’s organises a Ski Trip every year for second year students. In preparation for this we always begin organising and booking this whilst students are in first year.
The trip will take place during the February midterm break whilst students are in second year. It is for one full week (7 nights). We will be travelling to the charming alpine town of Bormio which is located high in the Italian Alps. The main focus of the trip is on learning to ski and all the fun that goes with that but we also include various other activities including; swimming at the indoor and outdoor thermal baths, quiz night, ice skating, race night, orienteering and a possible day trip to Milan/Verona/Bergamo depending on our arrival airport. From physical activity to social engagement to cultural immersion and onto personal development we believe this trip has it all. It would be important that any student intending to go is of good fitness as this is an activity based trip. Any student who has been before will readily talk of how amazing the experience was.
What is included?
The trip includes four hours of professional tuition daily (2x2 hours morning and afternoon) with additional opportunity to ski with teachers. Rental of high quality skis, boots, poles and helmet, full mountain ski pass, half board accommodation in a three star hotel (breakfasts and evening meals), flights to/from Milan/Verona with 20kg baggage allowance, all transfers and comprehensive ski insurance is also included in the cost.
